Things You Can Expect

Your guide will meet you with a personal vehicle and drive about 50 minutes to reach Chobhar. A place whose environment is so peaceful, where you will definitely have a rest from jostle & buzz of the city is Chobhar. The village has a marvelous panoramic view of the whole valley.

With reference to one of the folklore, the Kathmandu valley was a lake bordered by hills during the Pleistocene era. It is assumed that Manjushree, a heavenly saint from China had come here for a pilgrimage and saw a massive lotus emanating a dazzling light at the centre of the lake. Thus see cut a bottomless ravine allowing the water to deplete from the lake because she wanted to observe and reverence to lotus. The pedestal of the lake became the present Kathmandu valley and the gorge is called itself a Chobhar gorge.

This temple is dedicated to kali, the timid nature of Shiva’s wife. This Dakshinkali temple is located in southwest part of the Kathmandu which is 45minutes drive by vehicle from Kathmandu. The Dashain festival in October is major festival here.
