Get ready to join our Kailash Mansarovar Yatra 2025– a journey to a mystical gateway to heaven and enlightenment, behind which live Buddha and the Hindu god Shiva, ancestral spirits, and deities of natural forces. Revered by Buddhists, Hindus, Jains, and Bons, the Kailash is said to have powerful energy accumulated through thousands of years of quietly spoken mantras and the song of the wind and gods.
Through our 13-day Kailash Mansarovar Yatra 2025, you will reach Western Tibet, located 694 km away from Nepal. Here, the sacred Mount Kailash stands tall still unconquered at the altitude of 6638 m above sea level. The mountain is regarded as the holy abode of Chakrasamvara or Demchoka Buddhists by the followers of Buddhism whereas the Jains believe it to be the place where their first Guru Rishavadeva achieved enlightenment.
For Hindus, Kailash is the seat and throne of the god Shiva – the Destroyer and Reformer. Shiva is imagined as sitting on a peak in the
lotus position with his wife Parvati, smeared with ashes, meditating. Many legends tell about deities coming to this place to pay homage to Shiva or participate in ceremonies, e.g. the wedding of Shiva and Parvati.
Mount Kailash has a pyramid shape and according to the Vishnu Purana, the Kailash has four sides depicting the four faces of Lord Shiva. The four faces of the holy mountain face the four directions of the world. Moreover, when the sun sets, the Kailash casts a shadow that bears a striking resemblance to the religious symbol of the swastika, which is considered an auspicious sign by Hindus.
Equally important site is Lake Mansarovar at the foot of the Kailash which has a round shape resembling the sun. According to the legends, it is the lake where goddess Parvati created Lord Ganesh and took a bath in its water.
Because of its religious and spiritual significance, every year, thousands of pilgrims of different religions and beliefs come to Mount Kailash to circumambulate the mountain on foot. The tradition of circumambulation is called Kora by Buddhism and Parikrama by the Hindus. This is the tradition that has been followed for thousands of years.
The 53 km long parikrama route is typically completed in three days. The road is dotted with numerous holy places, every moment of it is a communion with the sphere of the sacred. Hindus and Buddhists walk clockwise, while followers of Jainism and the Bon walk in the opposite direction.
According to the longstanding beliefs, undertaking the Parikrama around Kailash wash away your sins, and the accumulated Karmic burdens thereby purifying your soul. Bathing in Lake Mansarovar and encircling the lake along with Kailash can turn your wishes into reality. Additionally, this ritual is also believed to grant eternal liberation to the departed souls of our ancestors freeing them from the cycle of birth and death.
And if you complete the 108 parikrama around Kailash, you are sure to be reborn in the Pure Lands of Heaven. The aura, the power, and the energy of this place are said to eliminate all the possible causes that may result in your rebirth as in the lower worlds or animals.
If you are also awaiting the opportunity to circumambulate Kailash and Lake Mansarovar, please contact us for we are bringing you the rejuvenating Kailash Mansarovar Yatra in 2025. We will take you on this consecrated journey crossing the Nepal-Tibet border at Kerung.
The journey ahead will then take us to Darchen via Lake Mansarovar. The pilgrimage around Kailash begins and ends in the town of Darchen. The most difficult thing is the ascent to the Drolma Pass (5630m). However, for those whose health will not allow them to encircle the Kailash on foot, we will provide porter, horse, or Yaks at an additional cost.
After crossing the Pass and reaching Zuthulpuk, our pilgrimage ends- a very joyful and at the same time uplifting moment. During this tour, you will be able to have Darshana of the northern, southern, and western faces of Kailash along with the opportunity to do the holy Pooja at Lake Mansarovar.
We will make our every effort to coincide your journey to Kailash on the full moon day especially during Jestha (May and June), Srawan Janai Purnima (July and August), and Bhadra (August and September). The deeply rooted belief among the pilgrims suggests performing the Parikrama on these auspicious days will erase the bad karma of your past 100 lives.

The familiar roads of Saga and Kerung will take us back to Kathmandu.
Kailash Mansarovar Yatra is a religious, spiritual, and natural journey to Tibet. choosing the best season for the visit is imperative keeping in mind the auspicious dates and times.
Therefore, we recommend you undertake the Kailash Mansarovar Yatra 2025 during the months of May, June, July, August, September, and the first half of October. Mother nature blesses these months with a serene climate, pleasant weather, crystal clear skies, and mild temperatures of 8 to 9 degrees Celsius.
July and August in Nepal can bring heavy rainfall but it is not so in Tibet. So you can easily take this trip in these months. At the end of October, however, in Tibet, chilly weather, cold temperatures of around 5 degrees, and wind speed of 20 m/s compels the guesthouses to remain closed till April.
The winter months of December to January can freeze the holy Lake Mansarovar with Kailash blanketed in a thick layer of snow. So this time is not favorable to undertake this Yatra.
Kailash Mansarovar Yatra is no ordinary journey as it will take you to an elevation exceeding 5000 m altitude. Starting the journey from 1400 m, you will cross the elevation of 5500 m as you reach the massive Drolma La Pass. Therefore, this Yatra requires unwavering strength, motivation, and determination. It is advantageous if you have prior experience in high-altitude trekking.
Yet, if you are new to trekking, you can still participate in our Kailash Mansarvar Yatra 2025 by engaging in some training exercises. Swimming, running, cycling, or high hill trekking are some of the training suitable for you. You can also integrate half an hour’s walk in the park every day to build your endurance and muscle strength.
The Kailash Mansarovar Yatra is an extraordinary yet challenging journey that tests you both physically and mentally. The total Yatra entails long transfer, high altitude ranging from 4500 to 5600 m, and unpredictable weather. Additionally, the journey becomes more arduous due to the insufficiency of proper hotel accommodations necessitating the stay in tents.
However, our knowledgeable team has designed our Kailash Mansarovar Yatra 2025 considering the factor of proper acclimatization. We offer crew members to set up the tents and prepare fresh vegetarian meals for you while stay in the camp. Upon your request, we will also arrange a porter, helper, yak, or horse for your three-day Parikrama around Kailash.
However, the program still demands good physical health, a strong ability to adapt, the ability to forego comfort, and the spirit of collaboration and teamwork.
For the Kailash Mansarovar Yatra 2025, we need a Chinese Group Visa, a Tibet Travel Permit or Tibet Visa, a Foreign Affairs permit, Aline’s travel permit, and a Military Permit. The process of obtaining the Visa and permits and the service cost are included in our service.
If you want to travel to Kailash faster, then two options are available for you: one is an overland tour from Kathmandu to Kailash via Lhasa, and Kailash a Helicopter Tour via Simikot.
The overland tour from Kathmandu to Kailash via Lhasa will take you to Kailash within 14 days (may vary depending on the program you have chosen). it is the most popular option chosen by most of the pilgrims who take a flight to Lhasa from Kathmandu.
From Lhasa, they drive to the Tibetan towns of Shigatse and join the path to Saga.
This trip is appropriate for those who like to travel in comfort and wish to explore the beauty of the Tibetan town of Lhasa. Opting for this route will give you plenty of time to acclimatize along the trip both in Nepal and Tibet.
The second option is expensive but a much faster option to reach Kailash. This tour commences with a domestic flight from Kathmandu to Nepalgunj. Next, you will fly to Hilsa via Simikot by helicopter. From Hilsa, you will then drive to Darchen.
One of the main concerns during the Kailash Mansarovar Yatra 2025 is the possibility of altitude sickness. Starting the journey from the lower elevation of 1400 m and then reaching an altitude of over 5000 m within a few days can exhaust your body. In addition, the human body needs adequate time to adapt to the lower concentration of oxygen level in the high-altitude atmosphere.
Taking this factor into consideration, we have planned minimal walking hours during the Parikrama so you have enough time to properly acclimate.
Still, regardless of properly planned acclimatization days and training and preparation, anyone is susceptible to altitude sickness. Headaches, dizziness, fatigue, loss of appetite, nausea, shortness of breath, irritability, and difficulty sleeping are some of the initial symptoms of this sickness.
To minimize the risk of altitude sickness, we advise you to adequately hydrate your body by drinking lots of water. Stay warm, and walk steadily to prevent the occurrence of altitude sickness. Taking Daimox can help alleviate symptoms. Some Tibetan herbs such as Hongjingtian can also do wonders.
Please hike down to a lower elevation or inform our guide if the condition persists.

Please be considerate if the accommodation after Saga is not up to your expectations.
From Saga till the completion of Parikrama, you will have to stay in basic lodging where you have to share a room with 4 or 5 other fellow Yatris. In the busy season of Yatra, we may have to opt for overnight stay in tents.

From 2024, the Tibet Tourism Bureau has decided to issue Tibet Travel Permits to individuals under 75 years of age. Those above 75 years of age will not get the Tibet travel permit due to health issues that may arise during the Parikrama in the harsh climate and terrain of Kailash. The Indian citizens on the other hand must be between 18 to 70 years of age if they choose to enter Tibet via Indian government agencies.
