Details

Chitlang is an ancient Newari settlement in Makwanpur district which is a part of Narayani zone. Chitlang is about 22 KM from Kathmandu in the South West direction. Before Opening of Tribhuwan Raj path (High way to link India and Kathmandu), Chitlang was only one “On foot Highway” to get India and the Southern part of Nepal.   Inscriptions dating back to Lichchhavi era have been found in this place. It lies in the high level of the northern part of Makwanpur district and southern main path of the 8289ft Chandragiri hill. How to Reach Chitlang:
Chitlang is approximately 27km away from Kathmandu. One can have a drive to chitlang either by Local transport or private transport whichever is possible. By drive it will take approximately 2-3 hours depending upon your transportation used (Private vehicle or Public vehicle) OR Chitlang is also reachable by walking/hiking which will take 4-5 hours approximately.

Itinerary

Day 01 – Arrival to Kathmandu (BB)
Our company Leaf Holiday pick up you from the airport and provide you the short brief about the trip. Leave you at hotel.

Day 02- Drive to Thankot, Started Hiking, Home stay in Chitlang (BLD)
When we reached in Thankot Hike through forest and have lunch on the way - Hike up to Indrasarowar, We will have an excellent View of Kulekhani.The hills of Chitlang offer one of the best hiking/trekking around Kathmandu. Chitlang boasts of 160 bird species and bird watching is something you can enjoy here. Camping and cycling here provides you an opportunity of getting closer to the un-disrupted ecology in the locality. The largest man-made lake of Nepal, Kulekhani (also known as Indrasarovar) is a short walk of 40 minutes from Chitlang. Overnight in Home stay or resort as you desire.

Day 03- Return back via Chandragiri to Kathmandu (BB)
After breakfast we will have 2 hour hiking to Chandragiri, explore the valley from top of the Chandragiri hills and return back to Kathmandu by ropeway to Thankot drive back to Kathmandu. Overnight in Kathmandu
